Plink and Boo

Plink and Boo is an important, thought-provoking, entertaining piece of theatre that encourages audiences to think outside the box.

Some might be Plink and others are Boo

Why does it matter, what’s the to-do?
Jumbled up people and boxes too small
Come play in our den and discover it all...
Welcome to the topsy turvy world of Plink and Boo. Using acrobatics, live music and mountains of toys, join us in an interactive circus theatre adventure to explore what happens when people don’t fit into boxes (even if it is the neatest place to put them).

Plink and Boo has been created by Can’t Sit Still in collaboration with children, parents and childcare professionals from Bristol and Swindon.

Plink and Boo was developed in 2017, and toured nationally to theatres, libraries, village and town halls between 2018-2019.
It was performed 62 times in 21 venues, playing to over 2500 people.
To create this show we worked with a team of 21 people, including performers, set builders, child psychologist and graphic designers,
generating over 300 days of paid freelance work.

Venues this show has visited include:

Oxford Playhouse; The Gulbenkian, Canterbury; Half Moon Theatre, London; The Place, Bedford; Matson Library and Gloucester Library (Strike A Light), Gloucester; Lancaster Library; Ellesmere Port Library; Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal; z-arts, Manchester (Big Imaginations Festival), Stratford Circus, London; Déda, Derby; Kidderminster Town Hall; Pound Arts, Corsham; Pavilion Dance South West, Bournemouth; The Mill Arts Centre, Banbury; artsdepot, London; Birdhouse Theatre, Grimsby; The Civic, Barnsley; The Tramshed, Woolwich; Emerson's Green Village Hall (Circus City Festival), Bristol.
This is a company who know how to work with young children ... a beautiful, pertinent and engaging production.

We want our shows to be accessible to everyone. We made these videos for people who might like to know more about what to expect when they come to see a show.
If you have any ideas about how we could improve these, or any other aspects or our approach to accessibility, please let us know!

Whilst we were creating this show we did A LOT of research into the themes it explores. If you would like to find out more, we have a built an evolving RESOURCES page that has further reading, activities, and videos for both you and your child. Please get in touch if you know of anything we can add!
